Ifo Magistrate court, sitting in Ifo local government area of Ogun State Today, March, 6, 2025, transferred the case involving Semiu Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile Ifo to the Abeokuta Magistrate Court.

Reports available on Google have it that the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday said it had launched a manhunt for the accomplices of the suspended Olorile of Orile-Ifo, Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, who is facing trial for assaulting a 73-year-old chief, Areola Abraham.
The police also disclosed that Ogunjobi was arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in the Ifo area of the state on three counts bordering on conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.
He said, “The Kabiyesi Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, who assaulted one elderly man in a viral video, in Ifo Ogun State, has been charged to court today February 4, 2025, on three counts of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
“He was granted bail while the case was adjourned to 06/03/2025.”
The FPRO vowed that justice would be served on the matter.
“The police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession,” Adejobi said.
Giving an update on the incident on Tuesday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omoloa Odutola, disclosed that a manhunt had begun for Ogunjobi’s accomplices.
The Ogun State Government on Monday suspended the Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, for six months for assaulting a 73 year old man, Chief Abraham Areola.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Hazmat, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Hamzat said the suspension became necessary following the uncivil conduct of the monarch on his subject in the public glare, not befitting the status of an Oba.
The Commissioner explained that the decision to suspend the monarch was reached by the Ministry in conjunction with the Egba Traditional Council in accordance with Section 52(1) of the Obas and Chiefs’ Law of Ogun State 2021.Recall that the suspended monarch in a two-minute clip, that went viral on the social media, cursed the septuagenarian and his family, over alleged conspiracy against his person.
He threatened to deal with Chief Areola because he has influence with law enforcement agencies, especially the Police.
